Questions about RAM Frequency

Hello, I have recently upgraded my RAM from 8gb to 16gb.

In CPUZ It's reading out a NB Frequency of 3999.1mhz, and my ram is running a XMP Profile set at 2400mhz. 11-13-13-31 for timing. (Ran at 1333mhz without XMP)

I wasn't sure if this is normal or not for the NB Frequency to be that high, as I'm not sure really what that means. If anyone can point me in the right direction or feed some information, it'd be greatly appreciated.

CPU - i7-4790k @4.00ghz
GPU - ASUS Strix RX-470 4gb
RAM - 2x8gb Corsair Vengance (2400mhz) 1.65v
PSU - Corsair CX650M
Cooling - Arctic Liquid Freezer 240

Thanks in advance!

Solution
Try different ram settings. You'll have to play with them a bit.
Either decrease frequency or increase latency timings.
For example you could try 1866mhz, 1600mhz or
increasing timings to like 12-14-14-40 .

Note - DDR3 voltage above 1.65V is not recommended.

I seem to have a re-occuring issue with a game crashing (Playerunknown Battlegrounds) when I use the XMP profile. Is it possible I bought RAM that isn't fully compatible with my MOBO? I did some research in the manual, and the timings that this RAM uses at 2400mhz doesn't match the timing that's referenced in my manual. When I tried manually setting the timing to what it was recommended at, I freeze at the BIOS screen. No blue screen, just freezes after a few seconds.
It seems to only like to run when I have everything set at stock, which is 1333mhz per stick.

I had noticed as well that it switched over to a 2T CR, I swapped it back to 1T and am going to test it out and see if that helps. I've read a few different posts stating 2T could cause some issues.

I had noticed while browsing, that my RAM may or may not be fully compatible with my board.
I have a Asus Z97-AR mobo, and the ram that's compatible (that's close to what I'm using) is
CMY49GX3M2A 2400C10A (Corsair Veng 2x8gb)
CMY16GX3M2A 2400C10R (Corsair Veng 2x8gb)

The current RAM sticks in my CPU are
CMY16GX3M2A 2400C11R.

I'm not fully a PC master, but could this explain the random crashes in specific games, whenever I run the XMP Profile for my RAM?

I had to stop using the XMP profile due to crashes (only in games) so now they only run at 1333mhz, and I can't seem to fluctuate them at all or I start getting crashes.

I'm going to be moderately upset if that's the case, being as I seemed to have misread the package when I bought them, and this was well over a month or two ago, so I'm not going to be able to return them for the correct set :(

I tried changing the timing manually to the C10R specs (10-12-12-31) with correct voltage at 1.65v and my computer wouldn't even boot, it was actually quite the tricky maneuver to quickly hop into bios upon boot and change back to defaults before it froze up.

When I use the XMP profile, it automatically changes them to 11-13-13-31 at 1.65V, but it seems to give some games error crashes when I use it. Any idea what that might be?
