To be honest i am so attracted to PC building because of aesthetics. At first i wanted to have a system that was just good looking under relatively normal circumstances such as white led strips. Heres the catch, i didnt know i needed so much RGB! My solution was the hue+ because its only a small price difference between that and non addressable leds. The next small difference would be to just get a mobo that has it already and also have the other features on a pricier motherboard.

So here we are, im looking for the best value/cheaper mobo with rgb headers
(i already have a basic z170 but getting priorities straight, i need a different one thats rgb)

I dont have a cpu yet because im waiting for a sale, so all overclockable chipsets are applicable.

Solution
.....please tell me you didn't buy all that. $210 for a mobo when your graphics card is only 1060 3GB?
What's your total remaining budget?
This is silly, I can get you a 1080 or possibly even Ti rig easily for all these parts.
Answer: You DON'T need 'so much' RGB, it's an absolute waste of cash, and Z170 is for Skylake, not Kaby Lake, and it won't boot without a Skylake CPU unless it was manufactured after Kaby Lake's launch.
No point in flashy lights if your mobo runs like crap, also the Hue+ is a ripoff, gives you two tiny strips which cost a bomb initially and you have to cough up for extension kits, just get a few bitfenix ones.
Give me a budget.

...Have you bought anything yet?
If so list them, if not post the list of what you plan to buy with a budget, i'm not confident you have a good list given your enthusiasm for RGB......
It just starts to look tacky as all hell if you go overboard man, trust me, I own a PC store franchise, I know.

Well 210 is the maximum. Also, I think I might flip my 1060 for a better one because it's an amazing overclocker. Overall, a really powerful gpu is slightly unnecessary given constraints such as ssds and monitors. Lately I suppose it might be useful for some part time mining

Also it's 210 CAD so 157

So you're telling me you haven't bought yet?
Don't pursue mining unless you know what you're doing, requires undervolting and underclocking your CPU to very low levels since it results in negative hashing when cost of electricity is accounted for.
Give me a budget for the WHOLE system, don't buy any of that yet.

found an offer for a z170f for 120 USD used
yea im fine with undervolting the cpu, possibly just as thrilling as overclocking (LOL). Gpu probably undervolts very well too, +255 mhz without playing with voltage slider

um i didnt really consider a full system cost and i really dont want to think about it haha
forgot about 2 other components: 240 hyperx savage and 1tb baracuda
