So i'm getting a wifi usb adapter and i heard it's not good for gaming but i a lot of the posts i saw people were really far away from the routers but my router is like beside me so do you think a 15$ wifi usb adapter will do the job for gaming?

Depends on what you want to play, for esports you will see a lot of latency and package lost so it would be annoying for high fps esports games like csgo, lol. etc, now if you play wow or something like that where you dont need that smoothness to play then it will be fine.
Keep in mind that wifi tends to find interference of other devices wireless phoes, neightbors wifi etc... i had to play with wifi for a few months when i was in college but playing wired is the best choice wifi still...

Does not pertain to CPUs, moved to networking subforum.
WiFi can be fine, depending on the circumstances. If you're close enough to the router and have no interference, you should have no issues while gaming.
I used to use wi-fi for gaming and I found that my latency would spike a lot, sometimes in crucial moments of whatever game I'm playing. I highly reccomend using an ethernet cable.
