Hi guys, so I'm having trouble deciding what to prioritize and buy first. A brand new gaming monitor ( Asus PG248Q / Acer Predator XB124H) or A Ryzen 5 build.

My Current setup:

CPU- Intel Core i3-530 ( OC'd to 3.8 Ghz)
MOBO - ECS H55-M
RAM - Kingston 1333Mhz 4gb
CPU Cooler - Cryorig H7 ( Bought last May to squeeze a little bit more performance from my i3)
GPU- Zotac GTX 1050 Ti OC 4gb ( Bought last January)
PSU- 430W low end thermaltake
OS: Windows 7 Pro

My Current Monitor: Samsung S20D300 ( OC'd to 77hz)

I mostly play FPS and MMO/RPG such as Overwatch, Guild Wars 2, CS: GO, and the likes. Nothing too graphics intensive, but I would like to play current and upcoming games also.

I only have enough money for 1 upgrade for now. New pc or new monitor.

If I go with the monitor, I know I have to turn down settings a bit cause the i3 bottlenecks the 1050 ti,
If I go with the pc build, it will be another 6 - 8 months before I'll be able to buy a new monitor.

I was hoping for your opinions on this matter, cause I'm not made of cash lol and I want to be able to utilize the money I have right now the best possible way.

Although, I can run around 90-120 fps at 1600x900 77hz and Fast Sync Enabled. But I know that may suffer when I go up the 1080p route.

Thank you in advance for the reply :D

Solution
Your videocard can take a 1080p screen without problems, the cpu is not affected by the resolution so what fps you get now you will get at 1080p too. So if you are happy with teh fps you get now you can get a 1080p screen. If you are not happy then change platform. Good games to test right now is gta v, battlefield 1. If you get good fps in this 2 games then you can get a 1080p screen without problems.

Thank you for the quick response :D

I didn't know about the cpu not being affected by resolution :D Thank you for that :)
Regarding BF1 and other related current games ( Titanfall 2), will I be able to install it even if my rig is waaaaay below minimum requirements? If yes, how? will the game's installer detect my system?
Thanks in advance :D

Depends on each game, some might let you install them, you can try, get a modern game you would like to play and try to install it see if it works then you know what you have to do. Usually an upgrade comes when you try something and it doesnt work good enought then you decide what to upgrade.
