I wanna see some gaming benchmarks on these 2 recording softwares, I know radeon relive is better when it comes to performance since it's not very heavy for the GPU. But I still want to know how much is the difference. So can anyone please post and share some benchmarks??

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

Not really, at the very start of the vid he shows what the performance comparisons were, 3 FPS perf drop on ReLive, and 5 FPS drop on DxTory. Keep in mind that is using x264 encoding WHILE capturing in DxTory though. With RawCap it would probably be less than 3 FPS drop.

With capturing it's like this, you don't really learn more by mere bench comparisons vs hands on usage, which I already told you you can do with DxTory free before buying. As far as I recall the only limitation with the free trial version is audio recording is disabled.

There's just too many variables with how benching is done to make a holistic comparison. It has to do with...
The reason ReLive has better performance is it doesn't actually capture via software. It captures directly via the h264 encoding hardware built into the GPU. It's more fair to compare it to ShadowPlay, and there ShadowPlay wins hands down, not so much on performance, but stability. ReLive is very glitchy.

That said, for those that have good enough hardware, or are OK using the DxTory codec in RawCap Mode (which writes huge files), DxTory outshines them both on features, and is still one of the best of the software driven tools for performance.

For RawCap Mode you need to assign more than one drive to write the capture file, and convert the RawCap files they make to Avi afterward. It increases performance dramatically though. In the example video below I was able to record even Mretro 2033 (original, not Redux) at 720p, with just a GTS 250 using just two HDDs in RawCap Mode.

DxTory is most popular for those whom capture matches with headset communication, and those whom do commentary over their self made videos. That is because it requires the capability of recording two audio streams to do it best, and only DxTory does that.

Thanks for the info, But I just wanna see some gaming benchmarks to see how much is the difference when it comes to gaming performance when recording. Can you share some benchmarks?

I only do occasional example videos, though you might find a few actual benches showing FPS. Here's another with same hardware setup as for the Metro vid, but with a much more detailed description. The game was playing at well over 100 FPS while capturing at 30 FPS.

DxTory has a free trial offer though, so no need to look for benches really.

I managed to find a fairly good ReLive vs DxTory comparison vid though.

I already saw this video, and this is a QUALITY comparison, not PERFORMANCE comparison.

There's just too many variables with how benching is done to make a holistic comparison. It has to do with settings used both in game and in the capture tool, hardware spec, what part of the game was recorded, etc. You'll get a much better idea of how it will compare by trying it yourself.

At this point, with your thinking benches are all you need to make a decision, I'm not even sure you'll be able to handle using DxTory. It has a higher learning curve than ReLive, which is another reason you need to try it first. That's not a dig btw, it was daunting for me at first, even though I'd had quite a bit of experience capturing with other tools.

That said, here's the best guide I know on how to use DxTory, including how to use RawCap Mode. It's the one I used after DLing the free trial version, and it gave me enough insight on how to use it and how well it performs that I ended up buying it. I'll also give you a link to their support forum.
