hi everyone,
My question is: is it possible to take the standard backplate of a gtx 1070 evga ftw of and screw an ek backplate instead on it?

Solution
I have an EK full cover block for my (founder's) 1080 w/ a backplate. The backplate will only be able to mount onto the PCB when the actual waterblock is installed. The screws pass down through the backplate, then straight through holes on the PCB and thread directly into the block. I'm 99% sure this is also the case for your EVGA FTW card.

However, if you're determined, I'm sure you could find some place online that'll make you a custom backplate to fit your color scheme. I know they are out there.
Eeeerm, pretty sure EK backplates are designed to be mounted on the waterblocks, not the cards themselves.
They don't have airflow exhaust grills, doesn't work otherwise.
The FTW backplate is really nice anyway, dunno why you'd want to replace it in the first place! :)
