Hi,

So I spent the last 8 hours tweaking my overclock on my 6600k and I noticed something weird. Im quite new to the overlooking scene as my last processor was non K.

I just ran the AIDA64 stability test for a solid two hours without any issues or throttling of the sort, well the software says so. I decide to open CPU-Z to check a thing or two and that is when I noticed the core speeds where jumping between 3.1Ghz and 4.8Ghz. I have no idea what is causing this. I know that the temperature isn't an issue as the processor doesn't reach 55 degrees Celsius after 2 hours of being stressed (plus me checking every 15 mins or so). Do you guys have any idea what could be causing this?

Current Specs:
Core I5 6600k @ 4.8Ghz with 1.320v
MSI z170-a pro
Corsair H100i v2 for the cooling

Thank you very much for your time

is it fluctuating while you're stress testing? try turning the power performance in windows to high performance, that should keep your clocks at max. are you using adaptive voltage and is speedstep on? does it ever drop below 3.1?

Hi, thank you for answering!
So I just checked and its fluctuating only when under a very heavy load (95-100%). The power setting are already on High performance. I shouldn't be on adaptive voltage as I set on manual and I am not sure what you mean by speedstep (Im quite new to the whole overlooking things but I have spent a couple of hours researching before attempting anything). I checked and yes it does seem that the cpu sometime drop below 3.1 Ghz.

Something else I notices is that my mother board limits me at 1.355v. If I try to push any further, the numbers go red and won't plug in.
