I am considering building a new office pc and would appreciate any recommendations for components and configuration.
It will be used for typical office work, browsing, research and a lot of large spreadsheet work. No gaming or CAD.

It should be a Windows 10Pro system and I intend to use 3no 2560x1440 DP monitors (Dell U2515H).

Obviously, I would preferably something that is relatively fast and quiet with some consideration for ‘future proofing’.

Alternatively, I would also welcome any suggestions of pc company (Dell, HP etc) models. I’ve looked at their websites but I can’t see any models that power 3 screens.

Many thanks.

Right, okay.
Sounds like a high speed 500GB SSD is the way to go for your system, just to ensure you don't run out of space and need to stick in a hard drive too early.

I can’t pretend to be an expert but my understanding is that Pro is aimed at business users and also allows more choice on what updates are uploaded. In any case, does it matter to the build spec whether Pro or home is used?

I don’t want an all in one. I just want the box to go with the 3 screens I intend to buy.

Budget (just for the box) is $1,500 but I’d be happy if I can save a few bucks!

Are you working from home?
Is this going to be built, brought into a work office and setup there?
Unless it's going to be managing multiple terminals and or running on a network of machines, aka if you're going to be using it as a normal desktop, W10 Home is fine.
W10 Pro is mostly just group policy management and 'business stuff' under a large umbrella. :p
1500 is more than enough, $1k is the most i'll need.

Any big storage going on?
What files are they?
Primarily spreadsheets, PDFs, powerpoints etc?
What file sizes for spreadsheets are we looking at?
I'm off to sleep in 5-10, Aus time here.

I've put in a GPU which has 4 display port connections, allowing you to hook up all your displays.
OS and software on the SSD, put the rest on the hard drive, and leave 30GB spare on the SSD at all times, as if the remaining space gets too small performance takes a nosedive.

Thanks for your replies so far.
This will be for a small office network.
File types are typical office files, pdf, word etc and with some spreadsheets in 20-30 mb size
Also we use Reuters Eikon which is a financial information program. One of the reasons i want a faster machine is because Eikon is very slow on my present pc.
