Hello fellows, I have a question. I want to update my laptop (Dell 15 Inspiron 5558) It currently has 4 gb of ram. But I need much more so I found G.Skill 2x8 gb ram. Its really fits what I need. But there is one problem it says

"For 3rd & 4th Gen Intel Core Processor G.SKILL Ripjaws 1.35V Low Voltage SO-DIMM memory kits are compatible with the laptop machines & PCs equipped with Intel 3rd & 4th Generation processors that support 1.35V DDR3 SO-DIMM."

G.SKILL RIPJAWS 16GB 1600MHZ CL9 DDR3 KIT OF 2 F3-1600C9D-16GRSL Model of the ram

The problem is my cpu is Intel I3-5005U
What's going to happen if I purchase this ram and install it?
Will it work like a charm or be incompatible?

Or should I purchase this model
"KINGSTON 16GB 1866MHZ DDR3 CL11 HYPERX IMPACT SODIMM KIT OF 2 HX318LS11IBK2/16"

Please help
English isin't my native languege. Sorry for mistakes :p

Thanks for solution! But what about manufactures and ram features. What would you recommend in my case? Im thinking about Kingston but G.skills low CAS and lifetime waranty...

Neither the CL or speeds are going to make any sizeable difference in performance. You'd see some 'gains' in benchmarks, but that's really about it for most people*

What are you actually doing with the laptop?

As for the warranty question, my opinion may vary from some others here. To me, if something is defective, it'll appear within the initially standard manfuacturer's warranty (usually somewhere between 1-5 years, depending on the product) and the added weight of "lifetime" or "extended" warranties are pretty meaningless..... to me at least.

*A few select workloads could benefit.

Im using my pc for surfing, video watching, playing couple games here and there. Of course 16 gb ram is way overkill for my situaton and I would be fine with 8 gb. But i want to max out my laptop >: D After I purchase ram I'll definatly going to change my Toshiba HDD in my laptop with brand new Samsung Evo 850 256 gbs. Also with brand new 1gb/s internet this will become a beast computer :) for me

Yeah, the CL or speed isn't going to make any noticeable difference for you.

Also, as an FYI, I wouldn't necessarily jump right in to a Samsung 850 EVO - while they truly are great SSDs, again; for your needs, you'd be served just as well by a budget' SSD option.

An 850Evo goes for ~$100 currently.

Something like a SSDPlus from Sandisk (240GB) is usually <$80.

It's a little high in price right now.......you can usually find them closer to $65-$70.

If the prices are within $10, then the Samsung is a great choice. But the 'faster' speeds are rarely noticeable to the end user, and the jump from mechanical HDD to even a budget SSD is still a huge difference.
