I ordered a new android tablet battery, but received a wrong one. What can I do?

I bought a battery for my DigiLand DL1010Q tablet on eBay, but the seller sent me a 3 wire battery instead than a 2 wire battery. I wanted to ask before I start the return process if it it safe to install just the red and black wire and leave the third (green) wire disconnected to make the tablet work. I can always return the battery id it doesn't. Thanks in advance.

if its the wrong battery(not what you ordered - not as described in the Ebay listing), send it back.

The seller told me to install the red and black wires and ignore the green one which I'll do in a few minutes. I'll come back with the results later. Thanks!

The old battery got into fire. Must have been because I twisted it to take it out. The new battery suffered no damage. The whole tablet is a mess so I threw it to the thrash and right now I'm browsing Fingerhut for a new one. I must buy it with credit because I have no money for now. Thanks everybody for your help.
