Changed my CPU to i7 2600 after buying a Manufacturer Refurbished HP 8200 motherboard, now it won't Boot and Fan Runs Quick Like a vacuum.

I have bought a standard Akasa Heat-sink and Fan for my socket H2/ LGA 1155 and i'm just wandering, is this cooling system suitable or do I need to keep to the HP type heat-sinks and Fans

This happens when I get no signal on my screen, the monitor goes into standby mode and then the fan starts running fast like a vacuum cleaner.

In the spec, 8200 Elite SFF Motherboard 611834-001 supported cpus, include the i7 2600 cpu @ 3.40 GHz and I am having this problem of not booting and fan runs like a vacuum.

Can anyone please help?

Thanks
Dominic G

Did you buy an i7-2600 or i7-2600K?
While it shouldn't matter much, prebuilts have limited BIOS support and their only supported chips (generally) are the ones they'd ship from the factor with.
In this case, the i7-2600, i5-2500, i5-2400, i3-2120 and i3-2100.

If you have a 2600K, that may well be the problem.
