Keen on buying the Acer Aspire VX 15 laptop. The online website shows nvidia gtx 1050 GPU with 4 GB VRAM, and this information checks out on the Acer official website as well.

However, there is no mention of a gtx 1050 having 4 GB VRAM on the Nvidia website, which shows it to have 2 GB VRAM. As, supposedly, only the gtx 1050 Ti variant has 4 GB of VRAM.

Question: Can a gtx 1050 have 4 GB VRAM as displayed on the online retail website as well as on the Acer official website?

It says up to, plus it's 1050 / 1050 Ti...so it's kinda confusing.

How's this confusing?

Laptop manufactures have been using extra vram for a long time now(yay marketing). A laptop GTX 1050 non Ti with 4Gb of vram is entirely possible and a much more likely explanation than it being a typo or abbreviation.

Click on the above mentioned link. It shows the notebook 1050 to have 4 GB as well.

Being a student and on a budget, this seems to be the most viable option considering the specs and the price. This is after the fact that where I live, the $ 800 laptop retails for around $ 1200-1250.

As evidenced by the above mentioned link, I think you do have a point.

I do understand your point, but I think a gtx 1050 with 4 GB should be better than a 2 GB card for graphic-intensive AAA titles, and should be a bit more future-proof as well.
