Hello guys maybe someone can help me out here. I have been having this issue for a few weeks now , I have talk to Nvidia tech support and no help, they just keep telling me to uninstall and reinstall drivers. Im running triple monitors and running SLI 1080 ti. So my issue is I go to Nvidia control panel and click "span display with surround" I go through the whole process of setting up the monitors, I do bezel correction and it all sets up great, I close Nvidia control panel as I am done with the set up process. Everything is running fine but then randomly my monitors go black and it reverts to single screen on its own. Then I go to the Nvidia control panel and all the settings are reset. Instead of "span display with surround " being highlighted "maximise 3d performance " is highlighted.
Does anyone have any idea why this keeps happening??

Solution
Try it again with just 2 monitors plugged into the first video card and one into the other. Also make sure all 3 monitors are the exact same resolution and refresh rate. Nvidia surround wouldn't not let me do 3 monitors on 1 card before because i was using 2 DP and 1 dual dvi port. You may have to play around with the setup and even try using all the same connectors if possible.
You should set up monitors in windows. Goto control panel and select harware and sound. Then select monitor then change display settings. Think of it as having 2 bosses and the bigger boss says nope that not going to work unless you ask me.

Thanks, that makes sense. I'll give it a try when I get home, yea it gets really annoying being in the middle of something and all of a sudden everything goes back to single screen and then have to set up surround again.

Tried and didnot work after a few minutes reverted back to single screen is their a way to keep windows from overriding Nvidia control panel? Does it matter how the monitors are connected to the gpu's? Nvidia support just told me to have them plugged in to GPU 1 which is how I have my setup.
Thanks for the help everyone

Well with nvidia tech support we tried the last two previous drivers and didnot help, then they had me reinstall the latest driver and it's the one I'm using and it still randomly goes from surround to single.

I use only display ports. I will give it a try, is there a process to do 2 monitors on one card and one on the other? I only ask because I tried this once and everything when crazy displays just went on and off . Am I also supposed to set up in control panel? Because the third monitor doesn't show when plugged into the second GPU.
I really appreciate all the help guys

So I plug on monitor to the second GPU and clicked "span display with surround" the surround screen displayed all three monitors and in the left bottom corner it showed that the monitors were correctly plugged in.( It show error when the monitors are plugged into the wrong ports) as soon as I clicked enable surround the monitors went black and they start turning on and off, I left them for 10 min to see if the setting would take and nothing , I had to power off my PC.

Ok so I plugged one monitor to GPU 2 and everything went crazy, my PC even crashed , then took second monitor and plug that to second GPU , for some reason it's real picky on which ports you plug the dp into. I had the HDMI port between the two cables and it didn't like that so I switch one of the cables to the left most port, so now both cables were right next to each other now. I setup surround and so far everything seems ok , I need to just keep using the PC and see what happens. So basically my center monitor is on GPU 1 and the two other monitors are on GPU 2 .
Thanks for the help I'll update if the problem is not solved

Ugh maybe I spoke to soon, as soon as I restart my system the left monitor was completely shut off , the center monitor was on but black screen and the right monitor was turning on and off displaying no signal. Can't get passed the the windows loading screen now. Is there anything in the bios that need changing? Is this because I'm running SLI?

So I played around with different combinations of where to plug the monitors. I plugged 1 monitor to GPU 1 on the display port farthest from the motherboard and I plugged the other 2 monitors to GPU 2 one is plug the farthest port from the motherboard as well and the third monitor is plug to the display port right after the HDMI port. So far have had no issue except on the sign in screen the right monitor occasionally display black instead of the complete image before signing in but as soon as I click sign in everything works great, have not had surround revert back to single screen. Thanks for all the help.
Didn't realize Nvidia surround was so picky
