Hello!
So, I must admit I have had my computer for around 5 years now and I have had to change a few items like the motherboard and graphics cards most likely due to lack of cleaning. Yesterday I decided to dust clean my desktop since I havent done it in like half a year or more, and all I did was pass some dry paper towel around (there really wasn't much dust anywhere other than the filters) and I took out the CPU, cleaned the fan and the heatsink, when I put it back on the computer wouldn't turn show anything on the monitor even though the computer was acting as if it was on and the motherboard did not do it's usualy beep. I redid everything I tend to do, I removed the CPU again and made sure I placed it right and this time I removed the battery for the BIOS.
I turned the PC back on and this time it showed on screen just fine, however it gave me the warning "American Megatrends, CPU Over Tempature Error!" asked me to go to Bios but it didn't truly do anything, Asus Bios CPU bar was on red filled. so I went to the Googles and it said if I take the CPU off and the thermal paste is dry I have to clean it and apply more. To Which I did the next morning and the computer is not complaining about it again.
However, here comes the issue, I use my PC for gaming, the three games I've played so far I am lagging so much that I have to put my settings a tad lower (I have them on High or Ultra and I have to make it Med to Low for it to not bother me) so I've used iOBit scanners and checked all my drivers and everything is fine, I decided to check Bios for tempeture control, and even though it's not red, the CPU bar is basically filled. when normally it never was, did I do something wrong?
If it helps: Before I cleaned it, it was working 100% just fine.
