Is cooler necessary?

Ok, I know this question have been asked trillions of times but I just want to know anyway because my aftermarket and cheap fan it's not working anymore and I thought of removing it, and I'm just using i3 it doesn't really matter right? And yeah I never overclock it, I normally play MOBA games and doesn't really need a high-end rig. Sorry for the long post, I'm a noob when it comes to hardware :)

Ah. Usually when we see the word "aftermarket cheap fan" and see reference to an i3 CPU, we assume you are referring to your CPU cooler. Case fans are for airflow sucking in air from the front then pushing the air through the case and exhausted out the back fan. It's not critical and in fact older PCs never had a front intake fan. It will improve cooling however with your CPU under load. I would recommend replacing it with another. Especially if you live in an area that gets hot in the summer.

It will overheat and shut off before you get to the splash screen without a cooler. DO NOT TRY THIS I repeat DO NOT. Most likely it'll recognize there isn't a CPU fan plugged in and just shut down, but it's shocking how quickly a cpu will go from room temp to 212°F like less than 5 seconds

You want to know how fast a CPU gets hot with no heat sink on it? Put your finger on an electric coil range burner and turn it on high. About five seconds and you'll burn your finger when you power up that PC with no heat sink/cooler. Same with a CPU. Don't ask me how I know that.

Guys, thank you so much for the replies, really! I just want to clarify that I forgot to mention that the fan I want to remove is the case fan! Case fan = cooling? Is it the same? I mean I'm thinking of removing the case fan because it's not working anymore. Sorry again, I'm a noob.
