Have I been sold fake/flashed ram here by the sounds of it?

So I have just completed my new build

Specs:
CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor
Motherboard: MSI - B350 GAMING PRO CARBON ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory: Code: cmk16gx4m2b3200c16
Video Card: MSI - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB Video Card
Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Now I have been trying to get the ram to operate at 3200mhz but it simply will not boot at that speed, or any speed greater than 2133.

The ram is supported and compatible at 3200mhz and I have the latest bios.

I am out of ideas for the reason for this other than it is shitty slow ram that has been sold to me as 3200mhz speed.

What are your thoughts on this?

Is there any information as to what the manual settings need to be? I don't just want to go in gung ho as I am not experienced with this and I am having difficulty finding legit info on what things should be.

I thought the bios update would mean that the ram would just run at the speed it was sold as?

all > 2133mhz ram have the basic Jentec standard speed encoded (2133mhz) the xmp is an additional chip on the ram that permits new BIOSes to know what to OC the ram to get the 3200. this has been true for years now... but lately for some reason the Ryzen motherboards have issues interfacing the xmp with the bios of the ryzen boards and many have found themselves having to set the ram speeds/voltage manually when the bios XMP setting fails (which I assume you already tried)

So I have never tried to OC until I built this pc, What I did was set the frequency to 3200 with a-xmp at 2.0 but no post. then at 2900 but no post. Then I think I tried setting to 3200 and using someones reccomended timings from the drop down list but it wouldnt post.

I am not sure how to do it completely manually and there doesnt seem to be any info on what to set things as which is making me less and less confident.

Can you help me with the correct settings?
