Hi guys I've got a z97-a motherboard and i5 4690K that I want to overclock in a cooler master full tower.
Was looking at the 212 evo cooler would that be sufficient for this chip?

Its decent cooler for 25$, it should be enough for mid range overclocking. If you want a bit better and much more silent then cryorig h7 or h5 will do it for under 50$. If you want best air cooler so in my opinion be quiet dark rock, noctua d14/15, cryorig r1 will push clock at the same level as budget water aio, but will cost around 70-80$

The c7 isn't better. It is hardly an upgrade from the stock cooler. I suggest the m9i for $20. Smaller, easier to install, similarly performing to evo. Otherwise the H7 is a good step up.

i agree the h7 is a way better cooler. i use it myself never had a problem.
