Hi guys. I have a doubt. My motherboard is an Asus Z270E and it says it supports diplayport with res. of 4096x2304 only up to a maximum of 60hz. My graphic card is gonna be a gtx 1080ti instead, do you think i can play to 4k 144hz plugging my monitor into the DP of the GTX instead of the motherboard? Or GPU's performances depends on the limits of the motherboard? Thanks guys

The whole point of adding a graphics card is to do things your onboard video controller can't.
The graphics card resolution and frequency are not limited by the motherboard as it handles those things on its own.

The only real limitation of the motherboard is bus speed to the card.
those two are separate things, said limit is on motherboard included displayport, not your discrete GTX card.

144hz on 4k is higher than your screen will likely manage though but.. that is different issue as is the fact that 1080Ti cannot push over 100fps in most titles on 4k.
