Hi reader,

First off I am not the best with pc's, just so you know.
So I wanted to gain more fps on Csgo so I tought: Why not checking if my graphics card is up-to-date. So when I tried to check my current version of my Intel hd graphics it only showed Intel HD Graphics Family. No specific number, Only Family. Now I can't check what version my intel hd is nor updating it without knowing the ''intel hd generation number''

Solution
Look in the BIOS settings, that's where you assign the amount of RAM to integrated graphics. However, there is a cap on how much you can assign to it, may be only 512MB or could be higher (eg 1GB).

Don't forget the more RAM you assign to graphics, the less there'll be left over for Windows, apps & games to use. So it's a bit of a balancing act. That's why a discrete GPU with it's own VRAM is a much better option.

Look up your cpu on google. The specs will say what your integrated graphics is.
Moot point; you can't change it.
If you need more graphics capability, you need to buy a discrete graphics card.
List your specs and you will get some suggestions.

Ark.intel says my intergrated graphics: Intel® HD Graphics

My intergrated graphics is performing really well right now. It get 40 fps on gta 5 on medium/low setting and even 60 on the airport, so I am not planning to buy a discrete card this year

When I try to download it from that page, the setup says: This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.

What now?

Newer chips have graphics numbers attached like HD530 or HD610.
There are a few things you can do to max out the graphics performance.

1. You should be able to increase the amount of system ram to be used by the graphics driver from the default to a higher amount.

2. Dual channel ram and higher speeds help integrated driver performance.

How do I increase system shared memory for my intergrated card then?
