So my oc with 6600k and cm hyper 212x clock speed at 4.6ghz voltages at 1.375 ran AIDA64 with good temps for 12 straight (temps peaked highest at 62c with one core avg. for all the cores were like 55c) When I start GtaV it runs with solid 60fps no issues for ½h to 1h then my computer just crashed. I there any way to fix my problem. Thank you!

Solution
First of all AIDA64 is crappy stress tester. Use http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4965-intelburntest.html , it does job better. And use http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html to minitor temperature and vcore in windows.

You could now increase your Vcore by 0.010V and check it again. Repeat if you crash again.

Make sure u use manual voltage first until u find your stable voltage.

Also 1.375 should be enough for 4.6, so its important that u check your Vcore voltage in windows because you could have vcore drop during load/gaming.

Thanks for the tips i'll try them tomorrow :)

Different stress tests operate differently and may not cover all the scenarios you'll encounter in real world programs like games. It's common to pass one or two different stress tests problem free for 30min to several hours of testing, then begin a different stress test and crash within 5min or less because the way it tests exposed an instability that others didn't.

Another good multipurpose stress test for stability is rog realbench. It stresses all parts of the pc, the cpu, ram, gpu and the memory subsystem running through a varying array of tests more similar to the way a pc is used.

Yeah I have noticed that :D I'm thinking to up my voltage to get stable oc what would you say to be the maxium voltage I should go for?

+1 for Makentox's suggestions. A modern cpu should throttle itself if reaching dangerous temps but it's more like a safety net. General rule is to keep an eye on temps during stress tests, especially when overclocking. Not a good idea to set something like ibt or occt (linpack) and go to sleep or go watch tv or something.

I'm a bit surprised it's taking so much vcore to reach 4.6, maybe try running various tests and if the cpu passes and no bsod try lowering it a little at a time and retesting.

You mentioned your game crashed but without reading the crash report it's hard to say what caused it. It might not even be a faulty overclock buckling under the load of the game. Have you tried briefly setting it back to stock and see if the game still crashes? Could be a software bug, conflicting software or a problem elsewhere.
