I have pretty old motherboard Gigabyte P35-DS3L, also I'm going to buy a GTX 1050 TI GPU (I don't even know if it's supported by my motherboard or it'll fit in my system unit) so I would like to know which CPU for 775 socket will be the best? I want to play some games like GTA V and Fallout 4 on at least medium presets with at least 30-40 FPS. I'm thinking about Intel Core2 Quad Q9400, is it good for gaming? I will appreciate any help. Thanks!

P.S.: currently I have Intel Core2 Duo E4400.

Solution

No core 2 quad can keep gta at a steady 30 fps.

I'm also thinking about these specs:

Motherboard: MSI B75MA-E33
CPU: Intel Core i5-2500
GPU: MSI GTX 1050 TI (or maybe not MSI, I don't know)
Cooler: DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 300
RAM: 2 * Kingston PC3-12800 4 GB (8 GB total)

It will be more expensive, but I think it is worth buying.
What do you think?

What do you think about that?

Motherboard: MSI H110M PRO-D LGA 1151, mATX, Ret
CPU: INTEL Core i3 6100
Cooler: DEEPCOOL CK-11509
GPU: MSI GTX 1050 TI
RAM: KINGSTON HyperX FURY Black HX424C15FB/8 DDR4 - 8gb 2400, DIMM, Ret

I am from Russia and this computer costs about 27-28k rubles which is about 450-470 dollars.
I'm thinking of moving HDDs from my current computer if they are compatible.

I've already realized that so I'm trying to make a new build from scratch now.
