Whenever I enable Internet Speed to 1 Gigabits Full Duplex it says no ethernet cable is recognized

Fios 1/Gb Internet was just installed today and I was really excited. However, whenever I enable the speed on my Ethernet port for my desktop to be 1/GB, it automatically does not recognize a cable, even though one is in there. The Most I can get is 100 MBS/ Full Duplex. Can someone help with this?

what speed is your router set to? Your NIC port and the router/switch port need to negotiate the speed. Maybe try a different cable
