There should be no compatibility issues. Great choice on the power supply. I would change the CPU to a 1500X+ and a mobo that supports it. Also a plus 6 core will help with the rendering.

I agree that the 1600 is a good choice.

With some games exceeding 50GB I'd consider a 500GB SSD. Crucial? 480? 520?

You will be downloading 10 or moving it from your current build? Without a disc or DVD drive in that list the answer seems obvious but, one never knows.

So, you believe that future GFX cards will require less power? They have been getting more efficient with time. Just surprised with the sub-500W PSU that doesn't seem upgrade friendly.

Based around keeping the price the same but getting a far better board & faster ram in - hence the case change too.

The 450m will run a 1070/1080/RX 580 with those components easily.
Infact anything upto a 250w GPU.

But yes I'd be more comfortable with a 550w model personally admittedly (the tx though is not great value before the rebate price )

B3 550 - $60 no rebate necessary - a better unit than the tx..

This is my first PC. Can I install windows 10 without a disc drive?

You can buy it on a USB https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Windows-Home-Flash-Drive/dp/B01019T6O0 but that's a LOT more expensive than the disc which is only $89.

But you don't have a DVD drive which would add another $20. Might be worth it.
