SO i just recently built my pc and I have noticed that my CPU's idle temp is 40-45 and while gaming it reaches 60-68 max. Is this normal or should i worry?

If you can do witcher 3 at 56, you're A-ok. The higher temps on AC could be poor optimization or need for newer drivers. Or just more demanding default game settings, which you can bring down yourself.

I have idles in lower 30s and highs generally not over 60 for same cpu. This is when not overclocking. It could be just the difference in coolers, or even difference in ambient temperatures. If you live somewhere really hot or are in one of the areas under a heat wave currently, this will be perfectly normal.

The HYPER 412S is somewhat an entry level cpu cooler. Your not going to get great results with it but your temps should be cooler.

Assuming you have at least one intake and an exhaust fan on you case, I would suggest that you reset the heatsink after removing and cleaning it. A pea sized amount of thermal grease in the middle will be enough as the heatsink will spread it as pressure is added.

If you do not have case fans, get at the very least one intake and one exhaust, as this may solve your problem.

I forgot to mention than the 60-68 temp appears while i'm playing AC: Unity which is quite a demanding game. I tested Witcher 3 and Dishonored 2 and CPU temp doesnt go above 56 which is a big boost since i changed thermal paste. As far as the idle temps go though i have no idea....maybe it's the hot summer climate.
