So I'm buying a new gaming rig soon, but I just wanted to make sure that all my parts who work and have no compatibility problems/issue's.

Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix Z270E Gaming Intel Z270 So.1151
CPU: Intel I7-7700K
CPU Cooler: NZXT kraken x62
RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX black DDR4-2400 DIMM CL16 Single
PSU: 750 Watt Corsair CX Series CX750M Modular 80+ bronze
GPU: Asus STRIX GTX 1080 Ti OC
Case: NZXT S340 Elite

Also, if these parts would allow both the CPU & GPU to be overclocked.

Solution
Yeah they are compatible and they can be overclocked

If you don't believe me just check out google or use PCPARTPICKER i highly recommend this one to check compatibility.

But I'd get 16GB, and save some money by doing for ryzen 5 1600 or 1400

I get why you're saying to upgrade to 16GBs, but due to my budget I'm sticking to 8gbs for now and upgrading to another stick of that 8gb once i get the chance. Thanks anyway for the answer

No you should get 16GB now and then buy more if you need it, and you should also get at minimum DDR4-3200, anything else is too slow. How much are you looking to spend?

Fair enough about the ddr4-3200, but why should I get 16GB now? I've currently got 8gb in another machine and never really had the need for 16GB.

Well first off having a single module in a dual channel system is *NEVER* a good idea. But the reason why is because higher resolutions and refresh rates, and especially VR require more RAM so it is better to be prepared than not to be prepared.

Nope, 16GB are more necessary than an i7 nowadays. And the R5 cpu can do pretty the same job so that is why I chose it not because it is cheap. Cheaper isn't always better
