I have an Acer Aspire T690 with an Intel Pentium D 925 3.00 Ghz processor. can I upgrade my cpu to the Q9650?

I know the socket is the same, but that doesn't mean the chipset and BIOS can support the Q9650. You can buy it, but you'll also need to buy a motherboard that supports it.

but the Q9650 is the same socket type. my Pentium and the Q9650 are both lga 775
