My 5820K temps are 38c-39c at idle !

Hi

My 5820k " not OC " temps are little bit higher than it should be since I'm using corsair H100i water cooler and a good thermal paste .

Please let me know what can I do .. and is this normal ?

I always update the bios .. and last time i did I tried to restore the default settings and change few settings for the boot device , fans , and ram .

then started windows and the cpu temps were 29c while browsing ! I'm not sure if I overclocked my CPU before without knowing but everything is working fine :)

What are you are basing your expectations on as to what is normal ? With a H100i, you should expect CPU temps to be a little bit (2-3C) hotter and a whole lot louder than the better air coolers.

Corsair H100i OC @ Idle = 33C

Noctua NH-D15 OC @ Load = 70C @ 33 dbA
Corsair H100i OC @ Load = 73C @ 68 dbA

With noise limited to 40 dba
Noctua NH-D15 OC @ Load = 70C @ 33 dbA
Corsair H100i OC @ Load = 76C @ 39 dbA

Cpu temps with that cooler on idle speeds (if they can be) will be usually @10°C ± higher than ambient temps. If the fans are set for max performance, you'll see idle cpu @3-4°C above ambient, silent will be @ 6-7°C ±. That's absolutely normal. Having a good cooler does nothing for idle temps beyond a certain point. The bonus to good coolers is maximum ability. As in ability under heavy loads, good coolers being far more effective than stock coolers etc.
