yea 1.2k usd and im using my old monitor in 1080p with 60hz but i might change to a 2k or 4k monitor wanna build a pc to last longer in the future and be able to play most AAA games in medium to high settings

If you want better details:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4xPs7h

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600
Motherboard: ASRock AB350 Pro4
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3000 16 GB (2x8 GB) Black
Storage: i. WD Blue 1 TB WD10EZEX 3.5"
ii. Samsung 850 Evo 250 GB 2.5"
Video Card: EVGA Geforce GTX 1070 8 GB Gaming ACX 3.0
Case: NZXT S340 Black
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNova G3 550 W 80+ Gold Fully-Modular

Price: $1198.26

If you want better refresh rate(120+ Hz/FPS):

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VbD8cc

CPU: Intel i7 7700K
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
Motherboard: Asus Prime Z270-P
Memory: Team Dark DDR4-2400 16 GB (2x8 GB)
Storage: i. WD Blue 1 TB WD10EZEX 3.5"
ii. Adata Ultimate SU800 128 GB 2.5"
Video Card: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1070 8 GB Mini ITX OC
Case: Corsair 200R
Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 520 W 80+ Bronze

Price: $1229.50

As you can see, the high refresh rate option is more expensive even if the other components are compromised upon.

Go with the Ryzen build then, it's far better.

But a 1070 won't do 4K. 1440p, it'll do just fine, but not 4K.

btw that down vote was a mistake i though that was a reply button lol

I'm talking specific to these two build to point out differences, rather than going general(though the general differences are quite similar):
AMD build - more cores, less clock speed, more future-proof, cheaper, smoother gameplay(consistent FPS, but lower average)
Intel build - fewer cores, more clock speed, less future-proof, more expensive, faster gameplay(inconsistent FPS, but higher average)

For 60 Hz at 1440p, the Ryzen build is perfect. But, if instead of going to 1440p you want to go towards 1080p at 144 Hz, then the Intel build will be more suited. But since you are going to upgrade the resolution rather than more FPS, the Ryzen build is what I would recommend.

That's the basic performance difference. Part differences include different CPU(duh), different motherboard, different RAM. You could usually keep the same RAM, too, but then the total cost really shoots up.

In short, AMD Ryzen builds are suited for gaming at 60-120 Hz at high details for longer, and Intel builds are suited to play at high refresh rates for lesser time(time as in future-proofing, not playing time).

No problems about the downvote :).

i was just googling about amd vs intel and they were using a ryzen 1800x and an i7-7700k to benchmark and intel wins out by price and performance

That's, like I said, for high refresh rate. I don't know how Intel can win in price, though. Unless they used over-the-top components, the 1800X is still the better value(though it's actually still a waste of money considering the 1700 and 1700X's offerings).
Can you link the site where you saw this?
And also, you're going with the 1600, so it's better you compare the 1600 to the 7700K, for a more apples-to-apples comparison. Like I said, for 60 Hz, Ryzen is the perfect choice.
