So, I plan on starting to overclock my old i7 920 to about 3.5-ish GHz(don't want to put it through 4ghz bcs i don't need that much performance), and for that I need a nice cpu cooler. One of the best air coolers for OC, from what I researched, is the hyper 212x, so I want to go for that. the problem is that I live in the EU and I can only buy the EU version, and it seems like the US version is compatible with 1366, from their site's info, and the EU isn't. Can someone confirm this? I don't want to just buy something randomly and have it not be compatible.

Solution
I think it is a mistake on the website. 2011-3 and 1366 sockets use the same mounting spacing, only difference is that 2011-3 mounts to the socket instead of using the included back plate the other sockets need. The EU version just has a lower max fan speed, 1700 vs 2000.

PC Parts Picker shows both SKU's as compatible and and the install instructions do too.
