Im building my first computer and have run into a problem.

I noticed that my Fractal Design Define Mini C case has 2 case fans. My matx motherboard (PRIME B350M-A) has only one pin to a case fan.

So I wonder, what should I do to be able to connect to the 2nd case fan?

I've read something about putting the 2nd to the psu, but I don't understand all those molex and pin things. My psu is EVGA 500W White.

Do I need to buy something extra? And what would that be?

Thanks for answers.

A fan splitter is exactly what you need to connect 2 fans to a single mobo CHA_FAN header, and yes, the header CAN power and control two fans. Here's an example:

This is a 4-pin Splitter, but it will work just fine with your 3-pin fans. (It's getting hard to find 3-pin Splitters.) Your fans are of the 3-pin design, but your mobo's manual suggests it can be configured for the correct control method. You need to go into BIOS Setup and probably change one setting.

See your manual, p. 2-5, Item 2.2 for how to get to BIOS Setup. It will put you on the opening EZ Mode screen, I believe - see p. 2-6. At the lower left click on...

See your manual, p. 2-5, Item 2.2 for how to get to BIOS Setup. It will put you on the opening EZ Mode screen, I believe - see p. 2-6. At the lower left click on the "CHA1 FAN" to get into the screen for configuring that fan header. The manual does not show us what the next screen looks like. But look for an option to set it to use Voltage Control Mode or DC Mode, and NOT PWM Mode. When done, use the F10 key to get out to the Exit Menu on p. 2-10. There you select "Save Changes and Reset" and confirm, and the system will save your setting for use, then reboot. You can connect both fans to the one CHA_FAN header using the Splitter, and they will both operate under automatic control of speed by the mobo.
