Hello,
I have a PC with internal HDD's and SSD's. total of 12TB of data, 6TB that actually need backup.
I'm looking for an external station (NAS) that work in RAID 1 to automatically backup my pc and drives ,Like every day automatically backup the recent changes in the computer,
so I won't need to backup manually and always have a recent backup automatically.

I don't have any experience with NAS systems but i guess there is an option to set the folders you want to automatically backup every period of time.

I have usb3.1 gen 1 ports and one gen 2 (10Gb/s) type port.
I don't have thunderbolt.

I will appreciate if you can recommend on a specific reliable NAS and 2 HDD's, preferably with a 5+ years of warranty.
I don't care for network access or cloud features. only a backup station.

thanks for the post, I couldn't understand it :(
I need something simple and automated.
I have found these options:
WD NAS with preinstalled 12TB drives:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GLRX7K0/ref=twister_B01HD06JHC?_encoding=UTF8&th=1
not sure what is the warranty and the type of the drives.

other option is to get Synology DS216+II NAS DiskStation, Diskless
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EMQYGWA/ref=psdc_13436301_t2_B01BNPT1EG?th=1

and get 2 drives separately, there are the WD gold or WD red pro, seagate iron wolf pro ect.
any recommendation?

I lost a seagate Video surveillance 24/7 class drive 2 days ago with 2TB of pictures after 4 years of use. that's why I need the most reliable backup solution. I have 4 WD drives from 2-10 years that working as new.
but I read a lot of bad reviews with recent WD gold and red pro drives that people get defective drive and get another defective replacement drive and so on. one person had three defect WD gold drives. people complaining that the 5 years warranty on amazon is not really full warranty and that you get a used replacement drive instead of new.

I really not sure what should I get.

Simple and automated:

Distilling down from my linked thread....

PC, NAS, USB drive

PC's have Macrium Reflect installed. On a schedule, this does an image of each drive to designated folders in the NAS box.
Every night, Full, differential, incremental...whatever method you choose.

NAS box backs itself up to the USB connected drive once a week.
The NAS is 4 drives...in my case, RAID 5.

So at any point in time, there are at least 2, and mostly 3 copies of anything.
PC->NAS->NAS USB backup.

This is all automated. I don't have to touch anything. The software, either Macrium or built into the NAS OS, does this all by itself.

If one of the drives in my main system were to die, recover from last nights automated Macrium backup that is in the NAS box.
If my entire system were to die, recover ALL drives from last nights backup
If the NAS were to die...data still lives in the PC and last wednesdays backup.
If my PC and the NAS were to die....recover from last Wednesdays backup on the USB drive.

If ALL of those die at the same time....I have far larger issues to worry about.
And also, anything really critical is also on a drive in my desk at work. Scans of birth certificates, drivers license, etc, etc.

Thanks it is much more clearer now!

I have found this NAS from Synology to be a better than the WD ones, does anyone have experience with them? what about warranty and reliability?
Synology DS216+II NAS DiskStation,

Now I need to choose two HDD's to put in Raid 1, are the WD red pro recommended? 265$ quite expensive for for 6TB.
I Will need two, anyone have experience with their warranty and reliability?
I will buy from Amazon usa, (I live in Israel so I have to ship everything here and pay 16% import taxes). and in any case of a problem I will need to ship it back to amazon.
