I have dell Studio XPS 435MT, and I am looking for a new graphics card that has two plugs for monitors. I am pretty sure I need a new power supply to be able to run a new graphics card. My question is, what power supply best suits my computer, and which graphics card should I get?
Thank you for any responses.

Solution

Please do not get that power supply. Watts mean nothing when they can't tell you how many Amps are on the +12V...
After a quick search it looks like you can use a standard ATX power supply in that Dell computer. The question is what GPU are you looking to buy? If you just want dual monitors and won't be playing and games you could just use a GT 1030, which doesn't need a very big power supply.

What GPU are you looking to get and/or are you wanting it to play games or just dual monitors for productivity?

I am not sure what GPU I should look at. I do want to play video games. as well as use it as a dual monitor. I was looking at Coolmax 400 Watt ATX 12V Ver 2.01 AC Power Supply, is watts good enough, or should I go lower?

Please do not get that power supply. Watts mean nothing when they can't tell you how many Amps are on the +12V rail. If you want cheap at least go with an EVGA 450B or 500B. You could get a GTX 1050 or 1050 Ti and be just fine.

okay!! thank you so much for your help! I have another question, knowing that the tower is not very large, would the power supply and the graphics card fit into the tower?

When I looked up the graphics card, I saw only one connection for the monitor. Or am I not seeing the other connector?

which monitors do you want to use?

The GTX 10 series only supports digital output. You may need a converter if you have analog monitors. But the GPUs have DVI-D, HDMI, and Display port. So you can use 3 monitors if your monitor supports those. or you will need a DVI-D to VGA converter such as this https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-GANA-Converter-Supporting-displays/dp/B06XFR74K2/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_23_tr_t_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=GF31PDSCCFBZWRW3JCYN

and an HDMI to VGA like this https://www.amazon.com/Moread-Gold-Plated-Adapter-Converter-MacBook/dp/B01MS611LJ/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1498342759&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=hdmi+to+vga&psc=1

if your monitors are VGA only.

I have ViewSonic VG2228wm-LED and ASUS PB238

Then you should be able to use 1 w/ DVI and 1 w/ HDMI.
