My Asus z270a Prime has an XMP switch that I only realized today. I have xmp enabled in the bios so will anything happen if I turn the switch on?

Solution
Yes it does the same thing, but it takes precedence I think over whatever you set manually in bios. I'd think you'd have to first specify what it ups your memory to (which profile preset it picks), otherwise I wouldn't trust it to pick a safe frequency right off the bat.
In any case if you've done this manually in bios already, it's pointless.

I was just wondering if enabling it in the bios and using the switch does the same thing.

OK thanks. I won't mess with it.
