Router making high pitched noise

Hi, I bought my router about 5 years ago and to my knowledge, it has been making this high-pitched buzzing noise from the day I got it. It is pretty quiet because it can only be heard if I put it right up to my ear. Is this a problem? Reason I'm asking now is because I am getting a new PC and I am super worried that it might somehow cause a surge though the ethernet cable or something along those lines.

Solution
Ethernet is magnetically isolated mostly because it needs it to function but it provides a huge safety feature. There is no connection to the power or even the ground in the devices. Unless it took a massive failure and melted the little transformers and then somehow got a power connection it is impossible for any power to go over the ethernet cable other than the signalling it is designed to carry.

There are no moving parts in most routers. This is likely one of those things that most people can't even hear, especially us older guys.
