I know this has been covered before in threads like this one http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2924332/changing-mobo-cpu-amd-intel-files-hdd.html?xtor=EREC-8889 but I was wondering if I could get step by step instructions on what to do to change from an AMD to an Intel mobo and cpu. It doesn't even have to be Intel. I just plan on perhaps changing out mobo's and cpu's in the future, but I don't know what complications lie ahead in doing so. For instance, Tradesman in the link I provided said to backup your data files. Well, I don't even know how to do that, or rather I don't know what files are important enough to back up haha. I just don't want to be like, "Well, I don't know how to exchange mobo's within one computer, so I'll just build a whole separate computer instead."

Thanks in advance for the help, and sorry for posting something that I know has already been covered in the past. It's just that none of what I saw was clear enough for me to confidently say that I'm ready to exchange mobo's. Also, I'm on Win7 64bit if it matters.

Update: I didn't even think to google this question first before taking it to the forums here, so I will be spending the next few minutes looking around to see what I can find. I am going to feel silly if google provides me the answer. Oh well. Live and learn I guess.
