How to measure 5ghz signal strength at the furthest receiving point in the house?

I have everything on a home wifi at 5GHz and am wondering the least costly way to objectively measure signal strength ( would it be microvolts? db? ) at the furthest device from the router, in my bedroom. I want to do this, to determine the optimum position on my kitchen wifi shelf ( or even if another place in the center of the house might be better ) for the router, as well as antenna orientation.

Seems like a 5GHz signal strength meter would be expensive, but can it be measured remotely through the receiving device, somehow? ( I don't mean by "bars" on the device panel - something finer and more objective )

Excellent point, thank you!

And the more I look into this, the more detailed the question gets.

I've been using InSSIDer free version on my PC for years - GREAT program! But I see the Android app version is $10, with no trial or free version. But that one shows both bands side by side, which I like better.

But this Wifi Analyzer ( I now have the Farproc one ) apparently just shows the channel ratings of 1-14. Is there one that shows best channels for 5GHz?

Of course I'm the only one on 5GHz in my neighborhood, but channel ratings might also show which one penetrates walls and gets to a certain spot where the receiving device is, too?

Oh wait, I just tapped to set the AP and it gave me the upper channels! :)
