I am searching for a hard drive to replace a failing one. The current hard drive is: Seagate 250GB, Internal, 3.5 inch, 7200rpm, 16GB, MFG No. ST3250410as. I am searching for options, I would prefer a new hard drive not a refurbished one, but I'm open to that eventuality. It fits into an computer I had built in 2009, and has been a tank all these years. I need to keep it going because I run a graphics program that will not work on modern Windows. I primarily use this computer for this graphics program, word processing, and internet surfing.

The computer is running Windows XP, SP3.

I can find refurbished HDs online, but most have 25% single star reviews.

I would appreciate hearing what my options are, I've done some googling and my search terms are so vague that I go in circles.

Thank you,
Bruce

No difference at all.
SATA III (6Gb) is forward and backward compatible with SATA II (3Gb)
