Hello folks,
my USB 3.0 ports seem to have stopped working properly after I reinstalled Win10.
Before doing so, I made a backup on my Toshiba external hard drive with USB 3.0 support. After setting up my PC again, I tried to get my data off the hard drive. Weirdly enough, the copying process aborts abruptly due to the hard drive disconnecting and reconnecting immediately. I tried reinstalling my current USB drivers in the device managers, but it does not help. For some reason, my USB 2.0 ports seem to work just fine.
I have an AsRock 970 Extreme3 r2.0 motherboard. I tried looking for drivers specifically tailored for this motherboard, but I could not find a thing. Apparently it uses "Etron USB 3.0 eXtensible host controller".
Some help in this matter would be greatly appreciated, since recovering my backup files with USB 2.0 would take forever.
