Right now it's terrible and even CSGO runs at only 30fps unless I lower the resolution

Here's the build:

Windows 7 64-bit
CPU : Intel Core i5 650 @ 3.20GHz
Motherboard : DX4831
8 ram
GPU: Nvidia Geforce 315 <------ I think this is the problem
Harddrive: WDC WD10EADS-22M2B0

I don't want to upgrade this PC into a high end gaming PC; I know i'm better off just buying another one.
I'm just looking for a cheap way to upgrade this potato into a better potato that can atleast play games on Low.

Thanks in advance

So the rest of my PC is fine? And do the three cards you mentioned work with my Motherboard?

yes, just make sure to measure the length of the card so you don't get one that is too long to fit (i assume that potato pc is a small tower). Also, double check the power supply connectors. pretty sure all those cards don't require an extra power connection, but better to double check.

Wattage isn't the only concern when finding compatibility. I was more so looking if OP's PSUs had the necessary cables.

Most do, though if the stated motherboard uses a power limited PCIe x16 slot (which I'm in the process of figuring out), this can become very problematic.

Edit: still haven't found any information on that motherboard. It may have a limited power of 35w or even 25w. If that is the case half decent GPU (like those mentioned) running purely on the PCIe x16 slot will not receive enough power to run. If the PSU has no PCIe power cables or molex, the situation will become very problematic.

Op, which exact PSU do you have (model and brand)?

After some discussion I believe this is the most reliable way to go:

Firstly, your motherboard likely has a limited power PCIe x16. Although no manual/guide online describes it, it is best not to risk it. If it is limited power to 35w, then a GPU with a TPD < ~35 watts that run purely off the PCIe slot (no connectors) (like the ones suggested above) will not work.
Your have to be looking at a <110w GPU that uses a PCIe cable, however your PSU does not include any sort of PCIe cable. So really, now you are limited to a GPU that runs purely off the PCIe slot with a TPD of <35w.

So really, the best/safest option here would be the GT 1030. While it isn't great compared to a alot of modern GPUs, it is compatible with your system, $70, and five to ten times better than your current GPU.
