I have recently gotten a strangebsod so I decided to run check disk on auto repair command promt. The check disk program on my 2 tb harddrive ran for a few hours, got to stage 5 on the 1 percent mark and has now hanged for a few hours, ever sense I mounted the harddrive to check disk involved he beginning,I am veryscared if I should Shut down my computer would it would brick my harddrive. What should I do

The hard drive may be starting to fail so I would test it with the manufacturer's bootable diagnostic software.
