Hello everyone,

My problem is that my Rzen 5 1600x (no overclock) is at temperatures averaging at 60 degrees celcius even when I'm just browsing chrome. I have two be quiet puure wings 2 case fans, and a cooler master 212 evo cpu cooler. I think the problem is I didn't plug in a certain front panel connector. In the case manual, it says to hook it up to the power supply, and that it was to control fan speeds. The reason I did't power it was because I could not find the right cord to plug it into. I'm scared to overclock and play games because my CPU is at a really high temperature.. Keep in mind that I am downloading a rather large game on steam right now, so I don't know if that does anything to temps. Also, since I didn't plug that cord in, the case fans are not going at a high rps, and they are positioned to be the intake and output. Shoudl I buy more fans, or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for helping,

I'd reapply the thermal paste and make sure I seated the CPU cooler correctly. It take so little time but can make a big difference. Then I'd make sure the fans are at at least 800rpm. With your setup I'd probably put minimum fan speed at 1200rpm to make sure cool. Set it in the BIOS or use some fan controlling software.

Where have you connected your case fans?
Did you plug them into fan controller?
Or did you connect them directly to motherboard?

BTW - your motherboard has 3 system fan ports. Fan controller is not really necessary.

And fan controller power connector connects to sata power plug from psu (if you decide to use it anyway).

It would be great if you could post some photos, of how you connected everything.

Well I just plugged a cable that needed sata power into a sata cable provided by the psu. In the case manual it said it was part of the fan controller, but the cable I didn't plug in was also part of the fan controller.
