PS4 NAT Type Issues - Tried Multiple "Fixes" but none seem to work

I've been working on getting my NAT Type down from 3 to at least 2 on my PS4 for the last few days. After watching countless videos and reading too-many-to-count forum threads on how to fix it, I still have no luck.

I've tried the following:
Enabled UPnP
Set the PS4 IP to DMZ
Changed "NAT Filtering" from "Secured" to "Open" on my Router
Forwarded all ports listed by Sony on their Help Site

I've always attempted to set up a Static IP for the PS4, but after having several goes at it, I'm honestly not sure if I was doing it right, so any help on that front would be appreciated as well.

I'm using a Wireless connection with a Netgear R6300v2. My ISP is Comporium.

Thanks!

I usually suggest first checking that the WAN (or Internet) IP address displayed on your router matches what is seen when you Google "what is my ip". If the two addresses don't match, it would indicate that you are behind your ISP's NAT (CGNAT) and you won't be able to forward ports without your provider's assistance.

Also, if you have a device provided by your ISP that is also performing NAT (modem/router device), it will prevent you from getting NAT type 2. Only one router should be configured between the PS4 and ISP. You should provide the make and model of the modem if you aren't sure about the network configuration.

A well written guide to setting a static IP address on the PS4:
https://portforward.com/networking/static-ip-ps4/default.htm

The PS4 normally doesn't require manual port forwarding unless UPnP is disabled on your router. Also, you will only get NAT type 1 if the PS4 is not behind NAT (not connected to a router and assigned the public IP address), so most people will only get NAT type 2.

So part of this issue that has been confusing me as well is the way my ISP configured the internet. They had the Netgear router configured as an Access Point originally; I disabled this during my initial troubleshooting. When I use my 192.168.0.1 login, its a totally different page than the routerlogin.com one. Not sure if that changes anything, but worth noting.

According to the 192.168.0.1 page, my IP address is 100.64.192.126 while Googling "what is my IP" shows 208.104.48.35. I'm assuming this is indicating what you first mentioned, and my ISP will need to get directly involved.

I called them on this issue yesterday and all they did was try and give me a Static IP that would cost $5 a month... What should be said to them to make sure the front line reps don't mislead me?

Also, thank you so so much for taking time to help; this has been driving me nuts the last few days!

The 100.64.192.126 address assigned to your router is a CGNAT address, so that explains the NAT type 3.

A static IP from your provider for $5 doesn't seem to be a bad deal. I'm not sure they would intentionally try to mislead you on assigning a static address, and you probably won't be able find anything until it is actually assigned. You just want to be sure once they've done it that it is not an address that begins with 100.64.x.x, and that it matches the Googled address.

You'll need to keep the Netgear router configured as an AP to avoid double NAT and ensure NAT type 2 to the PS4.
