I have a 500Gb SSD. I wanted to know if deleting a game will free up the same amount of space it took from downloading the game

Solution
usually he same if not a bit more

for example gta v weights 70 gbs but also after downloaded you need the dlcs, so that adds up

Because I once heard someone saying:" Buying SSD's is a waste of money. They're expensive and once you download something you can't get the space back"

It sounded weird to me, so I asked

Ah, ok. There was sort of an issue with deleted files and SSDs, but that's been fixed with the "TRIM" command. They are much faster/better at recovering the space from deleted files. SSDs are not like a CD/DVD where once you burn it you can't rewrite it. They are a hybrid between RAM and a normal harddrive.

im questioning whether you mean uninstalling or deleting?? you should never "delete" a game off of a drive. you still have all the registry and windowsx86 components still installled. always uninstall from control panel and delete the 'documents' folder associated with it.
