so I just put together my system, got a ryzen 7 1800x and the motherboard is crosshair hero VI
I noticed it normally puts my cpu frequency higher than I would like.. almost 1.5 i just played a game of battlefield 1 and left hwmonitor up and under my MB, votages it says CPU VCORE 1.264 VALUE, 1.199 MIN, and 2.790 MAX

is this the same thing im thinking about? the cpu frequency? i thought 1.5 was like dangerous levels? i also have the cpu water cooled

okay, actually i just looked and under RYZEN down from MB it shows, VOLTAGES, VID the MIN MAX and value is 1.550 V
thats still higher than I would like it to be.. should I go into the bios and change it to 1.350 or something? or is this normal.. i just dont want to mess up this cpu.. i just spent 2K on this new computer lol

Solution
Use other monitoring software such as HWInfo, not hwmonitor, it's showing wrong readings as it's interpreting the wrong data values.
VID is what voltage the cpu request, vcore is what voltage is applied to the cpu. Generally, you just need to look at vcore.
