How is their rating? On line? Offline?

I purchased a 970 FTW a while after the launch date. Invested $329?. It died about 1 year later. 7 days later I had a new one from EVGA.

As you can see and know it's the luck of the draw with used and even new items. If it does fail then are you out 250€?

I don't have the money for a 4790K new. I have the 4690K and might upgrade due to EVENTUALLY buying the Vive. If I were to buy the 4790K it would most likely be used. If I did have the money to buy it new I would buy it new.
It could be worth it. There's always risk in buying used processors, especially in unlocked ones. If it's from a reputable seller it might not be a problem. I bought a used 4790K last year. It worked great without issue.

I decided to go with a new 7700K from an authorized retailer though when I had the money. It's more rewarding I can say.

okay thanks guys. I will buy the new one...better spent the 100€ than losing the 250€. Cuz I don't know how old it is and and how he used it. Too much risk. I'M scared that it will die within a year....I need it to survive around 3~4 years untill I buy a new one.

Nice :)
