I would sure be curious to know. Or see a photo of the issue. I'm having trouble picturing any mITX board having its PCIe x16 slot that close to the case side panel of a mATX case. A mITX case, yes maybe, but not a mATX case.
I have a mITX case the Fractal Design Node 304. So in order to actually use the 1080 ti I am going to have to replace my case. Unfortunately I can't find an mITX case that will take the gpu due to the height issue with the fan shroud, so I will have to go the mATX route.
So the Thermaltake CA-1D5-00S1WN-00 I suggested above would work then. As would this Corsair ATX case if you have to go bigger than your mATX desire. I'm using the mATX version of that case, the Corsair Air...
Here's the one I'm using in another build that I used to have a Strix 480 of the same length in: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133274
Another case that accepts cards that long: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352064
Length isn't the issue, I currently have a Fractal Design Node 304 and it fits in this case fine (replacing a 970). The issue is the 2.5 slot cooler. The fan shroud hits the side of the case. Every mITX case i've looked at and a lot of mATX cases have the psu or drive cages right next to the PCIE slots so the card won't fit.
I've looked at the Nano S which may fit with a sff psu, however the 2 x 8 pin power requirements makes finding a sff psu with enough cables very difficult.

What motherboard do you have that has the PCIe x16 slot that close to the side of the case?

I can't remember the exact model, it's a gigabyte mini itx board.

I'm using the mATX version of that case, the Corsair Air 240. But I think the gfx card is too long for it. 11.75" card vs 11.5" case. The height would work, tho.
