I am thinking about purchasing an i7 7700k.
I have an fx-6300 at the moment but it's way too underpowered, I was wondering if i would need a new motherboard for this cpu to be viable.

430w high performance power supply, And was also wondering if my motherboard and power supply are capable of handling a GTX 1070 8gb founders edition?

Solution
Alas, your AM3/AM3+ does not support any Intel processors, different socket entirely...

The 7700K requires a socket 1151 board, such as Z270/H250, or , with luck, even Z170/H110 *with an updated BIOS*

no

for a 7700k you need a complete system rebuild, intel is not compatible with amd mobos you would also need ddr4 ram

need a good 550w for a 1070

no

since you already have a 6300, nothing is worth it on that motherboard

you want a 1060 or better, its time for a full overhaul

So the 1060 would not be compatible with the motherboard?

Do you know what the best gpu I could get for this is if you have any suggestions? Until I build a new pc. I'm not in the realm of starting from scratch at the moment.
