MSI motherboard with ASUS GPU

So for my new rig I'm thinking of getting a MSI motherboard and a ASUS GPU,
Motherboard: MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon
GPU: Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080Ti OC

Now the thing is that the Asus GPU has rgb, but I wasn't sure if it would still work if I don't actually have a Asus motherboard with it.

Basically, would the RGB from the Asus gpu still work on a msi motherboard?

I guess to use the utility you'd need a Asus Motherboard?

So technically, I could get the MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon and still control the RGD Leds on the Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080Ti by using GPUTweak?

Did you ever get this working? I have tried GPU Tweak and Aura control for just the GPU and nothing works. On GPU Tweak, the lighting control is grayed so I can not download the control. I tried Aura (graphics card) and Aura Lighting Control for graphics card and rog station as well along with GPU Tweak....still nothing. I'm also using an MSI board, X370 Gaming Pro Carbon.
