Hello! I have this problem with my PC. I swapped in a new mouse. My PC was in sleep mode.It didn't want to go out from sleep, so I pressed the power button for a few seconds, and the PC shuts down. But,when I tried to power it back on, it won't post.Fan spins, my LED fans spin. I took the CMOS battery out. It boots to the log on screen, but suddenly screen turns black, no nothing. Fan spins as usual.Anyone knows what is wrong and how to fix it? I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Solution
generally holding the power button doesn't break a computer but it certianly isn't good for it. try taking the CMOS battery out again, unplug power, and any peripherals/devices plugged into ports. hold power button down for 2-3 minutes then re-place battery and plug in.

Thanks a ton 190221! My PC is now working fine, got a notification of Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown, with the code. It turns out it was a BSOD.
