Xbox 360 controller- PC connection issues

I was told by a friend that i could plug my wired xbox 360 controller into my laptop to play skyrim. Yet, everytime i plug it in the controller just starts flashing green. Ive looked everywhere to try and fix it. Someone please help :(

Try a different USB port if you haven't yet.

Also, go to device manager, plug in the controller, and see if it shows up. You may need to install drivers.

Does the controller work on other computers?

Yes your right and one of those will fix his/ her problem with the controller not connecting.
